Three specimens of the same dicotyledonous seed were soaked in water and then left under different conditions. Specimen A – at 20°C in the dark. Specimen B – at 20°C in the light. Specimen C – at 4°C in the light. Fig. 3.1 shows what had happened after they had been left in those conditions for 4 days.
