Find the limit as x approaches 2 from the left of function [x], if it exists ? Lim [x] IF ITS EXISTS ? x-->2-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean the heaviside function or just x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow2-} [x] \] if it exists

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i guess you mean the heaviside then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Either way you look at it, from the left or the right, the answer will be 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope,What is the value for [1.99] ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

[x] means greatest integer of x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no dont think so no other information given only this question and gives four possible answers !!! 1 , 2 , 1.5 or limit does not exist ?? [x] = the largest integer that is less than or egual to x eg [2.4] = 2, [-0.5]=-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is one, anyhow.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes this is what i got but how exactly yo you compute it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the graph of [x]

thanks for your help cheers
