hello, i need help with oxidation problems.what is the number of oxidation : Cr2O2-7. i thought that Cr is +7. since 2(x)+(-14)=0

As the anion bears a -2 charge, your equation should read: 2x + (-14) = total charge = -2 Hence x = 6
