I'm working and I probably won't have time to learn and do my homework as fast as most students. So I would like to do it on my own rythm, maybe in 1 year, and do the exams next year. Is it possible?
That depends on whether you are taking the course on Opencourseware or via #edX. If you are taking the edX.com course, then you have to complete the assignments on time in order to be graded and earn a certificate. If don't care about a certificate, then you can work on the MIT OCW site on your own.
Thanks for your answer! I'll take my time to learn. Do you think I'll be allowed to register again to edX next year to have the exams and be graded?
I don't know what the plans are for offering the course again. I assume they will, since MIT has invested a lot in MITx. I wonder if it will still be free next year. I'm guessing that it will be.
I also work about 40 hrs/week and am doing 5 online courses so yeah, I'm crazy, lol. This course says about 12hrs per week so if you can spare 2hrs per day or 1hr per working day and 4hrs per day off (assuming 2 days off) it should be manageable. This is unless you work like 80 hrs a week and have kids that occupy a lot of your time or your life is extremely busy for other reasons. Hopefully you can sqeeze in an hour here and there and get it done, good luck.
