SUGGESTION: If you are part of the Mechanical MOOC course, could you label your questions #mMOOC? and if you're part of the EdX MIT 6.00x course, could you use the hashtag #edX? If your question is course-specific, labeling it will help your classmates find you, and you'll get better answers.

#mMooc - good idea :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes nice idea!!! I will try to tell LOTS of people.

i think that's a very good ideia and i'm already seeing people using it, nice. it should be a manner of simple common courtesy to state what ur question is adressing and refering to, and maybe an hashtag makes it more clear to everyone K.I.S.S.

Great idea.

Yes, questions should say what course they pertain to since there are obviously people here doing several different things. Using hash tags or similar is very helpful to get a good response.

great suggestion :)

What does a hash (#) mark do? Is it similar to an HTML bookmark symbol?

On some platforms, like Twitter, hashtags aid in searching. Here it's just a way of labelling your question. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashtag
