y/5+2=-8

OpenStudy (compassionate):

y -- + 2 = -8 5 First you want to subtract 2 y -- = -10 5 Now divide by five y = -2

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, but it would equal -8/5 = -8, not -8 = -8, the answer is y = -50

@Compassionate Correct me if I'm wrong! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

compassionate is nearly right: "y -- + 2 = -8 5 First you want to subtract 2 y -- = -10" 5 you times both sides by 5 rather than divide to get: y=-50

Yea! Thats what I was trying to say! Thank you @alexnhchong
