Every ten minutes. Uh-oh, lost connection. Trying to reconnect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that feel

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

I saw this happen not too long ago. A lot of times it means that there was an error with our JavaScript. It's probably a result of our recent deploy having a bug or two in it. Next time it happens, if you could open up yr "JavaScript Console" and let us know what the error says. I can help you find that console if you share what browser you're using.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I'm on Chrome. Don't I right click and expect element?

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

You can get to it through inspect element, or you can bring it up directly with the shortcuts: Windows: CTRL-SHIFT-J Mac: ALT-⌘-J Or via the wrench menu -> tools.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Okay, and then I just copy and paste it on here?

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Yup. I don't care so much about things like 404 Not Found Errors, but there should be some errors like: ``` TypeError: Id is not a member of undefined (stuff) other stuff (groups.js:12) even more other stuff (groups.js:14) more stuff (...) ```

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Well that sounds like it's actually a connection problem. For whatever reason yr computer is losing the connection intermittently. It could be our server as well, but I haven't seen any of those come up since I've been on for an hour or so. I'll keep my eyes peeled though. Is yr internet a little flakey or slow? That could have an impact.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

My internet is horrible. I lag out of online gaming all the day and sometimes it'll just randomly reset itself.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Oy, and unfortunately our site needs a pretty reliable connection otherwise the realtime aspect gets kinda screwy. There are no immediate solutions then, I'm afraid. We'll continue to optimize for slower connections, but there isn't a real easy fix for this that doesn't involve changing the nature of our site entirely. :/

Why is this happening to me too?
