how many points do i need to find the equation of a plane ? does knowing the normal vector help ?

You can form an equation for a plane from several pieces of information. A line normal to the plane + 1 point in the plane. OR Using 3 points in the plane, you can form 2 vectors, take their cross product, and get a line normal to the plane that way. OR Ummmm I dunno there are a few other ways also :D Like when a line intersects a plane.. blah i forget :D
