evaluate the limit.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow 1+} \sqrt{2x}(x-1)\div |x-1|\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do I start with?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

if \(x\to 1^+\) then \(x-1>0\) thus \(|x-1|=x-1\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure I understand that.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

when x is getting close to 1 from the right you are using numbers that are close to 1 but just a little larger

OpenStudy (zarkon):

so \(x>1\) then \(x-1>0\)

OpenStudy (zarkon):

the absolute value of a positive number is just that number
