-3c-12=-5+c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4c= -7 c=-7/4

OpenStudy (mariebrittany07):

can you please show me or explain how you figured it out because i never done algebra 1 before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3c-12=-5+c take the -5 and add it to 12, because when it goes to the other side, it becomes positive. this gives you: -3c-7=c then get the term with the variable on one side of the equation by adding 3c: 4c=-7 you get c by itself by dividing both sides by 4: 4c/4=-7/4 and c= -7/4 does that make sense?

OpenStudy (mariebrittany07):

yes it makes sense now thank you you are my life saver
