Warren's pet ant, Peaches, wants to take a walk to the sun. Peaches can walk at constant rate of 2.14 inches per second. How many years would it take for Peaches to get to the sun? ( distance to sun =93000000 miles) ROUND TO 5 SIG FIGS

Divide it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

31,536,000 seconds are in a year.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide what? @selffmadezoe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assuming 365 days in a year: 9.3*10^7 mi * sec/2.14in * 12in/ft * 5280 ft/mi * hr/3600sec * day/24 hr * year/365 days = 1.87*10^5 years I think. Double checking would be nice.

Are you familiar with dimensional analysis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@qpHalcy0n no but the name of the worksheet is called Chemistry Dimensional Analysis Test and he really hasnt talked about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@deltardaurs i will double check it and see if your correct with your calculation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you should DEFINITELY use a proper dimensional analysis. The key is to look at the UNITS and try to make them cancel. I'll get you started: |dw:1349236325883:dw|
