Solve the following equation. Then place the correct number in the box provided. (Use a mixed number format.) 6(2P - 1) > 5P + 2
First u need to get rid of the parenthesis in order to do that u multiply everything inside the ( ) by 6
6(2p-1) . 5p + 2 Distribute the 6 to the 2p and 1 6(2) = 12 6(1) = 6 12p - 6 > 5p + 2 Now combine the like terms. Subtract 5p from both sides. 12p -6 > 5p + 2 -5p -5p ----------------- 7p - 6 > 2 Now add six to both sides. 7p - 6 > 2 +6 +6 ----------- 7p > 8
So u will get 12p-6> 5p+2 . Treat this inequality as a normal equation where you solve for P. First you do +6 to both sides so u are left with 12p>5p+8 Now subtact 5p to both sides to get 7p> 8 Finally divide 7 to both sides to get p> 8/7
ok thanks thats alot to remember how to do that lol
Which would be p. 1 1/7 as mixed number
