(12xyz^-2)/(8x^-2z). First simplify the constants 12/8, to get 3/2. Any variable to a negative power equals a positive power on the other side of the fraction. This moves the z^-2 from the numerator to z^2 in the denominator and x^-2 in the denominator to x^2 in the numerator. Thus you end up with (3x^y)/(2z^3)

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x/x^-2 = x^1/x^-2 = x^(1-(-2)) = x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you got x^3 in the numerator and not x^2 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but it is wrong since you should have x^3 in the numerator : lets look only at the x part : x/x^-2 = x^1/x^-2 = x^(1-(-2)) = x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes!:)
