3x-2 >_(greater than equal to) 16 how to wright the answer in interval notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x-2 => 16 add 2 to both sides and then divide by 3 : 3x => 18 x => 6 \[x \in[6,\infty)\]

ok top part sound good what about how did you get e[6,00)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know that every x which is equal or larger than 6 will satisfy this inequality so [ says that it might be equal to the number [6 in this case might be equal and since [6 is in the left side it means that it is equal or larger than 6 now since any larger number will satisfy you must say 00) i choose ) because you cant be 'equal' to infinity
