8a+2-10a<20 The '<' has a line underneath, but considering I'm new to this site, I'm not sure how to set that up on here...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, you basically have to put together like terms first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be -2a+2≤20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b/c 8a-10a=-2a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyways, you need to isolate -2a so subtract 2 from both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2a+2≤20 -2 -2 ------------ -2a≤18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a≤-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Get it? (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you put the like terms together, it's 8a-10a+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, llet's substitute.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... so ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0≤20 which is true...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks Christine! That looks about right... (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as long as you get how to do it. ♪
