To get convert a proper fraction into an improper one, multiply the denominator (bottom of fraction), in this case, 4, by the whole number, in this case, 6, and then add the numerator, in this fraction, 1. Once you get this result, use it as the numerator (top part of fraction) and keep the original denominator (4). You can always check your answer by dividing the numerator by the denominator.
