a picture frame is shaped like a rectangle whose perimeter is 182 cm. the length is 6 times as long as the width. find the length and the width
no i dont and i think that is where i am getting all confused
The FORMULA is a rule you must memorize! I'll show you how to plug in after you find the formula yourself :)
ok the one i have is p=418 L(10w) find Land W p=2L + 2W
418=2(10W)+2W
w=21 l=210
2(20)+2(21)=418
had to do a whole new problem cause after i entered it wrong three times i had to do a similar one and its like my 8th time.. i have three questions all kinda like this
That's why you need to back track to the formula now :/
2( W + L ) = P
-> W + L = P/2
@nmoore Understand up to here?
width plus length = p square?
oh ok
Now, can you plug the numbers in ?
the length is x the width perimeter is 418
DIVIDE the perimeter by 2, NOT squared, NOT multiply !!!
418/2=209
no i got that problem wrong and it changed: a picture frame is shaped like a rectangle whose perimeter is 418 cm. the length is 10 times as long as the width. find the length and the width
the original post is wrong! as i was typing it i was trying to answer it and i got it wrong!!!!!! so i had to get a similar problem
this is like my 8th problem i am sorry i am stupid and i dont get it!!!
Why didn't you check your post at first !?!
i will remove my post and delete this whole thing i was needing help cause i dont understand not to be looked down upon!!!!
Anyway: W + 10 W = 418/2 -> 11W = 209 => W = 19 cm
@nmoore, of course L = 10w = ...? Questions?
