I was asked in my test earlier to graph f(x)=-x(x+1)^2(x-8) and my answer was No Solution because I didn't think it was a function. Was I correct?

I answered that because I thought it had 2 y-intercepts at (0,0) and(0,-8). Did I make a mistake?

I don't think it hits the y-axis at -8. Pretty sure it's a function.

When in doubt, take the time to make a table of values. With it, you can make a quick sketch and see if the equation passes or fails the vertical line test. If it has the same y value for two different values of x, it is not a function.
