You can also go directly to http://www.python.org/getit/ and click the "Python 2.7.3 Mac OS X 64-bit/32-bit x86-64/i386 Installer (for Mac OS X 10.6 and later [2])" option and it will begin immediate download. You are advised against installing version 3.3.0 or later as it's incompatible with some of the coursework. Good luck!
