OpenStudy (shealah):

Find x and the length of each side of the triangle...

OpenStudy (shealah):

OpenStudy (shealah):

I found x=7, HG=14, GJ=16 and JH=6. Is that right?

hero (hero):

I think you're off a bit

hero (hero):

You know that two of the sides are supposed to be the same, so that's your clue.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They tell you:\[HG=x+7,\ GJ=3x-5,\ HJ=x-1\]When they say \[HG \cong JG\]This means:\[x+7=3x-5\]So if you solve for \(x\) then you can just plug that back into each edge equation up there to find their lengths.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unless I am interpreting the problem incorrectly...

OpenStudy (shealah):

I just added wrong

OpenStudy (shealah):

i put 7 plus 5 is twelve so that set the answer off
