Help: show work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[h(3)=\frac{ 5 }{ 3+2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h(3)=5/3+2 h(3)=5/5 h(3)=1 h=1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[h(-4)=\frac{ 5 }{- 4+2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h(−4)=5/(−4+2) h(−4)=5/-2 h=-(5/2)/-4 h=5/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand how to do these?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinnda

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[g(1/2)=-2x+3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well lets work through one so you understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okey

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you have to get g by its self right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what do you have to do to that side of the = to make g be by its self?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope g(1/2) =−2x+3 if you look at the g side what is with the g? dont worry about the −2x+3 quite yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what would tht look like

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well when you have a g(1/2) that is saying g multiplied my 1/2 and if you wanted to get g by its self then you have to do something to it so that its not being multiplied by 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do you think you do ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g(1/2)=-2x+3(g) idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no you want g by its self so you have to do something to both sides so that g is the only thing on the left side. and seeing how you are multiplying g by something you need to devide g by (1/2) because that is what it is being multiplied by and when you devide something by 1/2 its the same as multiplying it by 2 so you need to devide by 1/2 to get g by its self. so do this g(1/2)=−2x+3 g= 2(-2x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but then you have to simplify the right side do you know what todo there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no im dumb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Combine comon factors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no your not you just need to work through these but to simplify you need to do g(1/2)=−2x+3 g= 2 (−2x+3) so multiply 2 by each of the things in the parentheses so you would do 2*-2x and 2*3 so you would have g=-4x+6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have time for me to come up with a problem to try to teach you ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not rlly i need from this and like 16 more in 30 mins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i no lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know what ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i take u dont want to hlep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i do i was asking if i could come up with a problem to walk you though it so you understood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i only have a certian amt of time can u do it? so i can get done in time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i want to help you learn but i dont want to do your homework for you. i can teach you how to do some problems though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u do like 4 of em?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i can walk you though a few but im not going to just do them for you that would be cheating

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how bout finish 4 then teach so u have time to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will do two then give you an example to try to show you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok finish the one we were ding then ill post a new one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did i gave the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g=-4x+6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g(-6)=-2x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g(-6)=-2+3 g=-6(-2+3) now im stuck do i smiplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to devide by -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g=12x+-18?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be right but you need to devide by 6 not multiply the only reason we multiplied before was because there as a fraction on the other side before ... but you are catching on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g=12x+-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you would do 1/6 *-(2x/1) and 1/6 (3/1) 2/1 =2 and 3/1 = 3 just incase you didnt knw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i am correct now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the you have 2x/6 and 3/6 which simplifies to 1/2 so the answer is g=-2x/6 +1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok last one then ig2g :( \[h(m-2)=\frac{ 5 }{ x+2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i gae to go to dinner you can message me sometime if you need help again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
