what could the reason be that iodine did not turn blue-blak when i tested potato

I was testing potato for starch by using iodine solution. What could some reasons be that it did not turn blue or black?

iodine solutions are supposed to change color in the presence of starch..potatoes have lots of starch so i don't know why the iodine didn't change color on your potato..

did you use any other chemicals on your same potato or just that one?
