Earth is about 150 million KM from the Sun. The radiation coming from the Sun travels at 300,000 KMs. How long does it take to reach the earth?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d=150,000,000 km v=300,000 km/s (as you can see from the units) we can find t: t=d/v

This is for my sister, and I know for a fact that they teach that formula. But she"s slow and denies it.

Lol, you can tell your sister this way: Light travels 300,000 km per second. For the first second, light traveled 300,000 km from sun. Next second, light traveled 600,000 km Third second. light is 900,000 km away from sun. How many second for light to be 150,000,000 km away from sun?

Thanks, but she still won't get it and she basically dislikes me xD So she can just fail.

:)

Thanks anyway!
