ok not sure if anyone can figure this out but ive been trying for a while its an evaluate an expression problem ((3+5)^(2)+|-24|)/(-2)(4-8)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

first... do 3 + 5

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

so you have ((8)^2 + |-24|)/(-2)(4-8) now do 8^2 what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

64

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right. now do |-24|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is 24

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right. (64 + 24)/(2)(4-8) now do 64 + 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

88

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right. now divide it by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

44

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

now multiply it to (4-8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-176

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

wait.. it should be -44 because you divide by -2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

so multiply -44 to (4-8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i think im doing it wrong cause i got 88 when you divide it by 2 -44(4-8)then divided by 2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

no you should divide 88 by -2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

your original problem says -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh srry yea it gets -44

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

now multiply it to (4-8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -44(4-8)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

simplify it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is 176

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is the answer right
