It is possible for two acute angles to add up to a straight angle TRUE OR FALSE?

hartnn (hartnn):

acute angles measure less than 90 degrees. to get a straight line, you need the sum as exactly 180 degrees. now can u figure out whether that is possible ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES BECAUSE 90+90 EQUAL 180!!!! SO ITS TRUE!

hartnn (hartnn):

NO!

hartnn (hartnn):

acute angles are strictly LESS than 90 so something less than 90 + something less than 90 = something less than 180 so it cannot make 180 exactly. make sense ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH YEAH HUH N YES IT DOES

hartnn (hartnn):

so its false.
