simplify 7x^2-2x+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has imaginary roots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the discriminant is less than zero...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at first it was 21x^4-6x^3+15x^2 which then became 3x^2(7x^2-2x+5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

roots are (2+136i)/14 , (2-136i)/14 and 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think im getting my signs mixed up on the next

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i comes for imaginary roots....if you are asked for real roots of the given equation, then your answer is just zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are we talking about solving it? i only need to simplify ive gotten down so far 3x^2(_x__)(_x__)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like the reverse of foil method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^2(7x^2-2x+5) becomes zero when 3x^2=0 or 7x^2-2x+5=0....okay then, you cannot simplify it further

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gotcha
