i need some piece of advice!!! i want to use fancy words in my essays !! words that are going to impress my teachers!! help mee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha ha I like how you think. I'm the same way. I can't give you a ton of words on the spot but I can tell you to think of big words. (example: devour, flabbergasted, extraordinary, extravagant, ethereal, and astounded.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!! do you know any phrases for beginnings or conclusions??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure lemme think

When it comes to essays I like to start with a more casual approach. Like for example "Everywhere I go people ask me about my laser eyes. I'd like to share with you what it's like living everyday life with laser eyes."

:D I made myself laugh.

and for conclusions you always want to start a concluding paragraph with "in conclusion...."(Or something very similar.). It's professional and you won't lose points.

In terms of phrases for introductions rather than full sentences like I provided earlier, that's harder for me to throw down for you.

Teachers aren't impressed by big words; they're impressed by words used correctly. Try to use a big word, and use it wrong, and that's an easy way to find someone simply trying to "pad" an essay with big words. It's a good indication that the person is trying to cover up the essay's shortcomings.

I agree with geoffb. Sincerity, authenticity are better than big words designed to impress. The latter approach never works.
