Billy buys a case of 36 biscuits for $5.76 and a case of 42 sausage patties for $9.24 to stock the concession stand for breakfast. If plain biscuits are sold for .50 cents and sausage biscuits for $1.00, how much money does the concession stand make on the sale of a plain biscuit? How much money does the concession stand make on the sale of a sausage biscuit?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

At the end of breakfast serving time, the concession stand sells all remaining plain biscuits for 25 cents and the remaining sausage biscuits for 50 cents. Is the concession stand still making money on the sale of the discounted biscuits? If so, how much does the concession stand make on the sale of a discounted plain biscuit? On the sale of a discounter sausage biscuit?

Lets start with the first one.

Oh. I am so sorry about that! Do you want me to close this topic and ask one question at a time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plain biscuit: Expense: 36 biscuits for $ 5.76 Sale : 36 * $.50 = $18 => Profit = Sale - Expense = .... ? @HorseCrazyGirlForever Can you fill in ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They make .34 cents on each plain biscuit.

Great job :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now similarly for the Sausage biscuit, can you follow my pattern to work out ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll try... Expense:42 sausage patties for $9.24 Sale: $1.00 * 42 = $42-$9.24= They make 78 cents on each sausage biscuit.

See, you did it yourself =)
