(2x10^4) X (2x10^5) multiply without using exponents. would the answer not be (4x100)^9

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

u r almost

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

4*10^9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why would you leave the 10 and not multipy it?

OpenStudy (phi):

2x10^4 means 2*10*10*10*10 (* means multiply, 2 times 10 times itself 4 times) 2*10^5 is 2*10*10*10*10*10 multiply it all togethter 2*10*10*10*10 * 2*10*10*10*10*10 we can change the order of multiplication 2*3 = 3*2 for example 2*2*10*10*10*10*10*10*10*10*10 2*2 is 4, so we can say 4*10*10*10*10*10*10*10*10*10 can you re-write using exponents?

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

u need to multiply only the first number in this case ok if there is any power function then u nedd to add 4+5 and the exponent should be constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you
