What is the period of f(x) = - tan 4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question is, what is the difference between two consecutive values of x for which tan 4x is the same. For this problem, you need to know that the period of tan kx is the period of tan x divided by k. Since tan x = sin x / cos x, the period of tan x is pi (rad). Thus, the period of - tan 4x (which is the period of tan 4x) is pi/4. Hope that helped! :)

That was very thorough. I can't really add anything to that, so I'm just going to draw some pretty pictures. |dw:1349484744347:dw|
