Are polynomial expressions closed under addition? Explain.

hartnn (hartnn):

Addition of 2 polynomials always gives a polynomial. So, YES.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So @hartnn polynomials are closed under addition because they alway create a new one? :/

hartnn (hartnn):

only when polynomials are added to Addition Identity (i.e, 0), we get same polynomial. else yes, every other time they create a new polynomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this okay for my answer @hartnn when polynomials are added to Addition Identity we get same polynomial. so yes, they create a new polynomial

hartnn (hartnn):

for 'Are polynomial expressions closed under addition? ' better answer will be 'Addition of 2 polynomials always gives a polynomial. So,polynomial expressions are closed under addition '

thanks @hartnn
