Simplify the following expression. -|25| - 41

OpenStudy (anonymous):

absolute values, do you now how they work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Calle87 not at all /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|-x| for any number x, that is in absolute value brackets. you get x, to recap |-x|=x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just to be clear, is that negative sign on the inside of the absolute value brackets or the outside inf front of the |25|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Cartercarter8 i know that's wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is not 16 btw ;D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically, since there is no negative sign inside of the absolute value bracket, you can just drop them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

making your expression

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-25-41

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see what i did there op?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh whoops i thought it was subbost to be inside the apsalute values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could u plz tell what kinf of expression is this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean what kind of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

absolute values

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

I25I so this will be always positiv but there is a sign minus than result will be always -25 so assuming this with -41 result -66 hope that is understandably good luck bye
