Charlie and Chang start at the same point and drive in opposite directions. Charlie drives 75 mph and Chang drives 51 mph. How far apart will they be in 3 hours?

the speed is given for both people and so is the time. you just have to find the distance. and distance/time = speed :)

so the O is the Origin and you call it 0 as well. we need to find 2 things for the solution. Chang's distance and Charlie's distance. so in math to make things easier we'll just call it a letter. so we can say charlie's distance= x miles and Chang's distance = y miles (or any other letter)
