Would the United States would be better off or worse off if we followed the code of Hammurabi as our law code? Please help!! Essay due TOMORROW!

I believe that if the Hammurabi's code were used in the United States, it would drastically reduce crime rates and insure fair compensation for any offense. Hammurabi's code suggests that whatever offense one commits, they will pay for that offense with equal punishment. For example, if a man were to poke a woman's eye out, the man would have one of his own eyes poked out. Such a strong judicial system with very clear guidelines deters crime and provides a fair justice system. ****Now you finish. I gave you a good start there. I hope it helps.****
