A box of 12 rechargeable batteries contains one that is defective. In how many ways can an inspector choose 3 of the batteries and
(i) the one that is defective

What do you mean by "In how many ways" ? In what format would you like the answer? A fraction ?

As in literally just stating how many ways e.g 22 ways. Not a fraction or decimal or anything like that.

The first part I got as 220 ways using       n!/r!(n-r)! and putting in the numbers but not sure if that's correct or not
