What was the McCulloch vs Maryland about. How did this decision in this case help our federal system.

It was where the federal government setup a branch of the national bank in Maryland, and the maryland government wanted to tax it since it was not chartered in maryland. The Supreme Court ruled that they could not do that because it was the federal government's bank. it helped by establishing the following: 1.The Constitution grants to Congress implied powers for implementing the Constitution's express powers 2.State action may not impede valid constitutional exercises of power by the Federal government.
