Identify the word or words that the *Starred* phrase modifies. Actually, few of the townspeople welcomed the new development *outside the city limits.* A. Actually B. few C. development D. limits ***my answer: C. development am i right??
hi!! do u get this? :)
I think you are right, but I'm a math guy, not a grammar guy
awesome!! :D thank you!! :D do u know anybody who knows english grammar well??
Yes, my English teacher. :D
lol :) funnayyy :D haha :D thanks!!
lol. ;)
few
can u pls explain??
Is this automatically graded?
nooo why?
I was gonna say C might not be correct,
Because 'outside the city limits', to me, is describing where the 'few' people met at, not the development
many of the towns people within in the city limits welcomed the development
My first was C, but then again I could of just over read it.
thought*
so my answer is B. few ?? @UnkleRhaukus and @gjhfdfg ??
UnkleRhaukus is saying its C, but I'm saying it could either be C or B
as i understand the question , the answer is B few has been modified but i am not a a studier of english
ohhh i'm sooo confused :(
Ah, I say C now. :/ Sorry not much help.!
wait so what?? i am sooo confused :(
C is my guess
okay thank you :)
Welcome
it's C you would normally attach the phrase to the nearest part of speech that makes sense. few is "too far away" and (being townspeople) it does not make sense for them to be both in town and outside the town.
ohh okay thank you!! :D
