X-2y=-9 is it equation linear??

well one way you can check is by graphing the equation so plug any number in for x and solve or y and vice versa but the best way to tell is by simply looking at the variable x. is it brought up by some power? no then it is linear if x was paired with something like x^2 -2y then it would be quadratic. but if you are ever in doubt just graph it
