Choose two trinomials from the list below to factor. Using complete sentences, explain how to factor each one. 2x^2 + 13x + 15 2x^2 + 27x + 13 5x^2 − 2x − 7 10x^2 − 7x − 3 8x^2 − 11x + 3

Do you know the basics of factoring?

No. But i really need the answer because I have to finish another assignment in 20 minutes

Well I'll try to explain as fast as possible, first lets pick the first tow equations. 2x^2 + 13x + 15 and 2x^2 + 27x + 13 a trinomial is two binomils x together so the answer will be like ( )( ) 2 and 1 are the only numbers that multiply together to get 2 so you start with (2x )(x ) which makes the 2x^2 when you multiply them two numbers that x together to = 15 and add to 13 are 5 and 3 (2x+3)(2x+5) Using the FOIL method, this equals 2x^2+10x+3x+15 which equals 2x^2 + 13x + 15

The second equation is 2x^2 + 27x + 13 , the two numbers that x together to get 2 are 1 and 2 so (2x ) (x ) like before two numbers that multiply to get 13 and add to 27 are 13 and 1 since 2(13) +1=27 so (2x+1)(x+13) again, using the FOIL method multiplies to get 2x^2 + 27x + 13 Any questions?
