Air contained within a piston-cylinder assembly undergoes three processes in series: a. Process 1-2: compression at constant pressure from P1=10lbf/in2, V1=4ft3 to state 2 b. Process 2-3:Consant volume heating to state 3, where P3=50lbf/in2 c. Process 3-1: Expansion to the initial state, during which the pressure-volume relationship is PV=constant. Sketch the process in series on P-V coordinates. Evaluate the (a) volume at state 2, in ft3, (b) work for each process, in Btu

@Algebraic! thanks for the diagram but would you be able to help me solve for the volume and work
Not actually sure what they want you to do there: the work from 1->2 is 10*(?-4) but I don't see how the expect you to find the volume it's compressed to...
without some info. about the work done...
any ideas?
@Algebraic! yeah i wasnt able to figure it out :(
someone else helped me figure it out this is what i was trying to do http://openstudy.com/study?login#/updates/5072548ee4b04aa3791de9fa but thanks for the help @Algebraic!
