A horizontal spring with k = 71N/m has one end attached to a wall and the other end free. An 84g wad of putty is thrown horizontally at 3.8m/s directly toward the free end. Find the maximum spring compression (ignore gravity). Note: Kinetic energy is converted into potential energy of spring. Thanks!

Figured it out, in case anyone wants to know here it is. \[x = \sqrt{\frac{ mv^{2} }{ k }}\] x =displacement m = mass v = velocity k = kinetic energy
