why does people buy ipads(which is extremely expensive) when they can simply buy an ipod touch 4g (which is way cheaper)? the reason why i ask this is because they both have the same features.

Similar features but obviously different capabilities. Plus, the consumer always feels more is better. Just like purchasing televisions. Would you want the 24 inch our the 48 inch tv. :)

True! :) but i don't see why people still spend over atleast 400 dollars just for a bigger screen when you think about it. I kinda find that ridiculous  because why would somebody wanna carry around a big tablet when you can simply just carry around something small

it isn't always about portability. I don't have an iPad, but I do use a tablet however. It is great for studying and I do just about everything with it my laptop can. Yes, it is even a lot lighter than my HP notebooks I used to haul around campus. Price? they match notebooks! The screen doesn't strain my eyes either when I look at it for over an hour. 

Apple does give you a little bang for your buck. The camera capabilities are in fact different. The iPad gets a slightly clearer image where the touch is subject to white washed images.Technologies in phones are accelerating forward real fast and tablets are almost full-fledged computers. This is an obvious business lesson. If there are people willing to pay for it there is nothing keeping Apple from setting a price tag consumers will pay. Sometimes you have to look at it from other folks' eyes. Especially the elders. ;)
