to get from your house to your grandparents house you must avoid walking through a pond. To avoid the pond, you walk 16 meters south and 24 meters east. How many meters would the trip be if it were possible to walk through the pond? ( round to the nearest meter). A. 29 METERS B. 28 METERS C. 30 METERS D. 64 METERS

i known that you use pythagorean theorem 16 * 16=256 24*24 = 576 and when you add them it will be 832 but thn after that i dont know what to do

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

this is solved by pythagoras theorem the square of the distance is 832 so distance = square root of 832 u can do this on ur calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i get 28.8444102037

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be A

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

right so thats 29 to nearest meter

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yea
