n this activity, you will be using the Contextual Redefinition chart to help identify unknown words within various sentences from the translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. 15 words will be given to you within the chart, and then you will find 10 additional words from sections 3 and 4 of the text and add them to the chart. Your job is to discover their meanings in relation to the text provided by completing the chart in the following steps: You will fill in the first two columns of your chart by asking yourself the four questions found on the lesson page. Then, you will use the dictionary to see if your guess is right. If not, choose the dictionary definition that best fits with how the word is used in context. Don't forget to add in 10 additional words from sections 3 and 4 of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Please repeat these steps for all 25 words in the chart. Using this strategy will allow you to tackle challenging vocabulary and achieve a greater understanding of the text. So basically you have to guess the meaning of the words first based on the sentence and then find the actual definition using a dictionary and see if you're right?
