Can someone tell me, is this WHOLE area the "Study Group"?  I clicked "Join Study Group" and was taken here.

The blue bar at the top of the page indicates which study group you are currently viewing.  As long as the bar says MIT 6.189 A Gentle Introduction to Programming Using Python (OCW), you are in that group, which is the one the Mechanical MOOC course is using.  OpenStudy has lots of other groups that are worth checking out.

OK, thanks.  This is my first try at a MOOC course and I wasn't sure what to expect when they said there would be Study Groups.  I pictured something like the Paper Chase Law School Study Group with Bell and Hart.  Glad its not so formal.

Nope, just us people and machines hanging out here.  If you said you wanted to study in a group when you registered, you'll also be assigned to a mailing list of about a dozen people to work more closely with.

I don't remember if I did or not.  I guess I'll find out.  I'm flexible. I can work in small small group or in this general area.
