well monomials (1 term), binomials (2 terms) and trinomials (3 terms) are just particular cases of polynomials. in this case after expanding the square u get 6 terms. so it as a polynomial.

by the way by polynomial i meant multinomial (since all of those are polynomials) anyway...what if you don't expand?
