A limit question...I haven't got any idea until now..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow a} (2 - x/a)^{\tan(\pi x /2a)}\]

hartnn (hartnn):

tried taling log on both sides?

hartnn (hartnn):

taking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No..i'll try just a sec

hartnn (hartnn):

i guess , u'll need L'Hopitals then., are u allowed to use it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes sure..I am doing 11th problems just revising...but forgot how to do it...

hartnn (hartnn):

then i think u'll get the answer....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is e^(2/pi)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i got it...its of form 1^infinity and there is a way to do such problems...Thanks:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its e^(2/pi)

hartnn (hartnn):

yeah, u write tan as 1/cot , isn't it ?

hartnn (hartnn):

yup, with that i m also getting same answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lim x->a f(x)^g(x) = exp lim x->a [f(x)-1]g(x) This is if the limit is in the form 1^infinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are right

hartnn (hartnn):

gud question bdw :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks:) In fact I've to say thanks because after you started helping I came to realize that..thanks

hartnn (hartnn):
