whats the difference between bad conductors , insulators and dielectric
insulators does not allow flow of electric charges at all.. Bad conductors are those which can conduct electricity but offers more opposition (resistance) to the flow of current compared to the flow of current in a good conductor.
Dielectrics are used to store the electric charges,
all dielectrics are insulators , but all insulators are not dielectric
u need examples ?
but then some book say 'dielectric are insulators'
yeah for sure
yes, all dielectrics are insulators, they don't allow the flow of electric charges through them bad :Drinking water, iron insulators:kerosene, umm...let me think
rubber is an insulator
dielsctrics?
dielectrics*
insulator :glass, air, vacuum, polyethylene, wait.
dielectrics :porcelain (ceramic), mica, glass, plastics, and the oxides of various metals
need more explanation on any of these ?
thanks hope i got it!
bt pls explain wat are dielectrics actually mean?
know about capacitor ?
A dielectric is an electrical insulator that can be polarized by an applied electric field.
because of polarization , positive charges are displaced toward the field and negative charges shift in the opposite direction.
the air between plates of capacitor acts as di-electric
yeah i knw that,,,, i wanted to knw what will happen when it is introduced in conduction process
they won't conduct, instead they will store the energy in them.
really k thanks for ur help
i hope i helped. welcome :)
