an object is dropped from 31 feet below the tip of the pinnacle atop a 931 ft tall building. the height of the object is given by the equation h=-16t^2+900. how many seconds pass before the object hits the ground

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

h represents the height of the object above the ground. so, when it hits the ground, what will h equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so am i multiplying? like 31(-16t^2+900)?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

what will h equal when the object hits the ground?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

you are going about this the wrong way. @willb6 - once again, what will h equal when the object hits the ground?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sue no i don't, its just asking me to enter the answer ( ) seconds pass before the object reaches the ground.. @asnaseer h= -16t^2+900

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

@willb6 - think about this a little. what will be the /value/ of h when the object hits the ground. remember that h represents the distance that the object is above the ground.
