11w-9-7w=15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since 11w and -7w have the same variables, you can add the coefficients (11+(-7))w the -9 can be eliminated by adding a +9 to both sides of the equation. To get w by itself, you have to look at what's happening to the w. Since it's being multipled to w, you can remove it by dividing that coefficient from both sides.

11w-9-7w=15 group like terms
